Frequently asked questions

Everything you're wondering about bringing home a Counting By Corgis puppy.

Where are you located?

Rural Middle Tennessee. We aren't generally set up for in-person visits, but we're always happy to share photos and videos as the puppies grow.

How much are your puppies?

Prices vary by litter and color, but in general our Fluffy AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgis are about $2,950, and the chocolate American puppies are also $2,950, with prices going up for a chocolate fluffy, merle, or blue-eyed merle. Prices are determined when the litter is born.

How do I reserve a puppy?

Send us an inquiry — and if you already have a puppy in mind, be sure to mention that puppy! We'll talk with you by text or phone call to make sure we're a good fit for you. If we are, we'll send you a contract and an invoice for a deposit to reserve your puppy ($500) or your place on our waitlist ($250). Every dollar of your deposit is applied toward your puppy's price — see how our waitlist works for the full process.

Do you offer financing?

Yes! We offer financing through Square's Afterpay. Qualified buyers can split an invoice between $400 and $4,000 into monthly installments over 6 or 12 months. Curious what you'd qualify for before committing? Download the free Afterpay app and check your estimated "available to spend" — approval itself is instant at the time of purchase, so there's no paperwork ahead of time. Just mention financing when you reach out and we'll set your invoice up to accept it.

What's included when I bring my puppy home?

Your puppy goes home up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, vet-checked and cleared to travel — along with starter food (we feed Purina Pro Plan Chicken & Rice puppy food), a blanket that smells like us, their full vaccination and deworming record, a copy of their vet check, and registration paperwork if applicable.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes. Every puppy goes home under our written Purchase Contract & Health Guarantee, which you'll sign when reserving your puppy. In short: your puppy is guaranteed healthy at go-home (verified by a licensed vet's pre-pickup check), and covered for one year against life-threatening or severely debilitating genetic conditions, with specific heart, hip, and eye provisions extending further. Like all responsible corgi breeders, we can't guarantee against IVDD — the back-disease risk tied to the very gene that gives corgis their short legs — but our parents are DNA tested and we breed with long-term health in mind. Ask us for the full document anytime.

Are your puppies AKC or CKC registered?

Our Pembroke Welsh Corgis are AKC registered. For our American Corgi puppies, CKC registration for the parents is currently pending and not yet finalized. All puppies are placed on pet registration unless other arrangements have been made.

Do you health test your parent dogs?

Yes! Our parents are genetically tested (Embark or Orivet) for common breed-specific conditions. You can view each parent's documents on the Parents page.

When can puppies go home?

At 8 weeks old, after their vet check and clearance to travel.

Can I pick which puppy I get?

Yes! Picks are always made in the order deposits are received, and we announce each litter's pick timing when the litter is born. When the puppies are easy to tell apart — distinct colors and markings — picks open right away, from the photos and videos we provide. When littermates look alike, we wait until around 3–6 weeks so their personalities can help guide your choice. Either way, you'll have 24 hours to decide once it's your turn.

Do you deliver, and how much does it cost?

Yes — nationwide! Puppies can fly in cabin with a flight nanny (never cargo, typically ~$850), join a road trip delivery ($250–$750 depending on distance), or we can meet you part way at no charge. Full details on the Transportation page.

How are your puppies raised?

In our home, as part of the family — exposed early to kids, noise, and visitors so they grow into confident, well-socialized companions.

What colors and coat types do you have?

Fluffy coats, merles (including chocolate/brown merle), and traditional colors like red, tri, and sable — across Pembroke, Cardigan, and American Corgi litters.

Do you have a waiting list?

We do! A $250 deposit holds your spot in line, and you'll be contacted in deposit order whenever a litter matches what you're looking for. Read all about it on our Waitlist page.
